They were physically distanced, but the crowd at the 2020 Crows Nest Centre Melbourne Cup event was full of race day excitement.
For many of the Centre’s clients who hadn’t been able to get out much in recent times, it was a day to celebrate and catch up with friends.
Many enjoyed the opportunity to dress up, with the Pat Brunton prize for best fashion going to the glamorous Jessica.
Handmade cupcakes complete with Melbourne Cup party toppers were a huge success. William Blue College of Hospitality delighted guests with hot and cold savoury treats and delicious sweets.

Patrons enjoyed ‘Melbourne Cup bingo’ as a warm-up to the big race. Sweeps quickly sold out with extras added due to popular demand.
As the event came to an end there was a consensus that it was good to be doing something fun again.
